When filming our film opening we made sure it included many aspects that would appeal to our target audience. We have quite a wide target audience of 16 - 24 and due to this we would have quite a young audience.
Music.
One aspect of our opening that appeals to young viewers is the music. The music is an instrumental from quite current artists who also appeal to young people. This means it is likely that they have heard the song and they can identify with it.
Towards the older end of our target audience.
An aspect of our film that appeals to the more older viewers would be the detective voiceover which reveals there has been a serial killer in a neighbourhood. After researching I found out that detective shows/dramas appeal to young adults as they enjoy being intellectually challenged to find out what the mystery is.Our actors are at opposite ends of the age range, with our jogger in his late teens/twenties and Elizabeth appearing as a 60/70 year old.
Location.
The location we chose is one that can appeal to young and older viewers. The location is a park. In a park you are likely to see all age. Teenagers with their friends, young adults jogging or with their
children and the elderly walking their dogs.
Improving fro our rough cut.
Our rough-cut was very helpful, as it showed us what needed to be improved and we were asking our target audience so they were giving their opinions which showed us if they would be interested in watching it or not. After getting feedback from our rough-cut we decided to make a few changes.
Interviews
Below is a interview with Hermenia Powers. Who is 16 so would therefore be a part of our target audience. There is also another interview from a viewer who watched our finish film opening at the cinema.
Promoting The Film - Facebook Page.
I also made a facebook page promoting the film to our target audience.
