Evaluation Question 5

How did you attract/address your audience?

Our film opening, "Young Eyes"focuses on the mystery of killings that have taken place in a quiet neighborhood  The serial killer is constantly in disguise, which creates different conceptions to the audience. The killings have gone on for far too long and need to be stopped. "Young Eyes" features a detective that seeks to unravel, the mystery serial killer.

"Young Eyes, is a crime thriller targeting a young audience from the ages of 16-24. I feel that the film would be more popular with the male audience due to the sub genre. The sub genre may attract a male audience as there is some aspects of violence.  However the film title "Young Eyes" may bring a mixed audience. The word "Young" may appeal to the young audience which would bring both males and females.

Facebook Page for Young Eyes

The film "Young Eyes" has reached our target audience through social media and word of mouth. Facebook and Twitter were essential to reaching our target audience. Without them, our audience wouldn't know where to watch the film. The film was available on many platforms such as the cinema, Vimeo and YouTube. The advantage of having it available on Vimeo and YouTube was it could be easily accessed by anyone at any time. It was easily shared through social media. Word of mouth was extremely effective as I was able to inform people who I couldn't reach. This lead on to a person passing it on to a friend and so on.

After receiving tonnes of feedback from our rough cut, we were able to make our overall thriller way better. We were told to tidy up the splits screen which we did. Also a few people said that we needed good sound effects and maybe add some music. We done this by adding a soundtrack which is upbeat. This created a normal and positive atmosphere for the audience. The natural sound which we had already was used when we didn't use the music, this was the birds, footsteps and water. I feel our film opening improved hugely from the feedback of the rough cut.

This is the interview with our target audience straight after watching our thriller opening. We received a mixed response with most liking the splits screens as it was professional and original. However some disliked that the running scene is pretty long also the music was a bit disliked. Also the death of the jogger being killed by the old lady was kind of funny to the audience. It may have been as it was unexpected or that it was an old lady killing a young man.

Some words the audience used to
describe the thriller
