When speaking about our target audience in a group we all agreed that it would be a young audience going up to about the age of 24, however we disagreed with what gender it would appeal to more. some of us said girls as the main character who is committing the murders is a female however I personally thought that males would enjoy it more because the detectives also play a main role and they are males, also our film would be a crime thriller which appeals more to males than females. The wider audience for all thrillers is also males usually from their late twenties onwards. Our thriller is a cross between crime and psychological. Psychological thrillers are usually a 18+ this is because they can include a lot of violence and some psychological issues that may be harmful to younger viewers, this particular genre is more popular with males. Crime thrillers usually are a 15+ and they appeal to both males and females. I think our unique selling point is the fact that we have a woman as the main character in a crime film and she is also playing the role of various different characters as she changes through different disguises. I think this would appeal to our target audience as young people often like to see new things done in films and as it is rare to see a female play the main role it may interest them to watch the film.
